 Legal, ABWith 28 murals proudly displayed around town, Legal, Alberta is known as the French Mural Capital of Canada. As with many northern Alberta towns legal is bilingual with a large French cultural influence, first introduced in the fur trading days. The rolling topography surrounding Legal makes it an excellent location for outdoor sports such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking. As an added convenience you don't even have to leave town to fish, as there is a stocked rainbow trout pond in the lovely day use park. Places to fish in the area include Lac La Nonne 30 minutes away ( pike, walleye, perch, whitefish and burbot), Halfmoon Lake (pike and Perch) and the Red Water River (pike only). Located just 50 kilometers north of Edmonton on Highway 651 there is regular bus service provided by Greyhound and the nearest airport with scheduled service is Edmonton International.
